Chihuahua Cerberus

by | Apr 12, 2017 |

Late in 2016, I was watching my two Chihuahuas playing, and thought it would be funny to see a Chihuahua Cerberus (or hellhound).  I mean, usually, you see this type of creature made from a large dog bread, like a mastiff or lab or a mean looking dog like a bulldog or Doberman.  Not from a little, ankle high Chihuahua.  I thought it would be funny and cute.  His bark is worse than his bite.

In March of 2017, I started exploring a low poly style of characters and have found them fun to do. One of the first things I made was a dog that looked a bit more like a dog with a polar bear’s head.  After a few tweaks, I started getting the dog look. So I decided to try the Cerberus, and realized in moving his eyes that I moved them where they should have been in the first place.  That resulted in the first image you see.

After doing that one, I noted that I didn’t really give him a mouth. I could have just used that model, but decided to redo it, giving him an open mouth and make him so that he could be animated.  That’s where the other images come from.  I also created the doghouse, dog bowls, and dog bones for use in a potential scene for the Cerberus.
